# tryboxi

> Disposable Linux microVMs on your own machine, for AI agents.

tryboxi gives Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and your own AI agents disposable Linux microVMs on your Mac to run tests, installs, servers, and untrusted code securely. Free and open source.

Each sandbox is its own Ubuntu 24.04 microVM on Apple's Virtualization.framework. Your repo syncs in one way,
changes come back only through diff / apply / pull with a backup, network access is allowlist-only, and stored
secrets never enter the VM. It runs on macOS 14+ on Apple Silicon and is MIT licensed.

## Install

```bash
git clone https://github.com/karthikponna/tryboxi && cd tryboxi
make images build
./_out/bin/sandboxd install --artifacts _out
```

## Connect an agent over MCP

```bash
./_out/bin/sandboxctl mcp install cursor --project ~/code/app
./_out/bin/sandboxctl mcp install claude --project ~/code/app
./_out/bin/sandboxctl mcp install codex --project ~/code/app
